Gentlemen

My family and I recently returned from a month long vacation to Great Britain and Ireland. We had the opportunity to stay at a variety of Bed & Breakfasts and Guest Houses while visiting England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. All of which were either 3 or 4 stars/crowns and we thoroughly enjoyed  our stay in each.

The purpose of this correspondence is to let you know how much we appreciate the quality  of the accommodations and services we received from Billy and Wilma Harper at their Hazeldean Guest House. From the moment we pulled into the driveway on Wednesday 23 September we were impressed with the reception, services, accommodations and delicious meals served by our hosts over the next 2 days.

Their home, both on the outside where the flower garden bloomed for our enjoyment as well as inside, where Louie Armstrong entertained us with his jazz were unique. The breakfast conservatory as well as the beautifully furnished rooms made us feel very much at home while at the same time, being treated as family and royalty at the same time.

Their singular contribution to the enjoyment of our vacation and fond memories we will recall for years to come prompts me to send you this note. They are a fine people running an excellent establishment, truly worthy of the highest rating. Wishing you a blessed Christmas season.

Dear Sir/Madam

You may remember that my wife and I stayed in your hotel from Tuesday evening to Wednesday morning. This turned out to be an extremely pleasant experience for us. Your hotel was a delight, the service was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much that we intend to return to your hotel if and when we visit Dumfries in the future.

Subject Dumfries

I just stayed in the Hazeldean Guest House, Dumfries, and was so pleased that I eagerly share a description here.

The Hazeldean is the archetypal Victorian house, with more mahogany than you have ever seen, with pull strings for overhead lights, with doors that go THUMP rather than tweak, and at the same time it has all the lodging comforts one could want- colour Tv w/remote control, beautiful decor, full "to-swim-in" bathtubs, etc.

Not the least is the breakfast.

Quite a lovely experience
